Back to No. 2 in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association rankings, the Dutch started the fourth week of the summer season with a shutout victory over #6 Ballard on Monday night. The road trip to Huxley was highlighted by the second start of the season for returning All-State hurler Teagan Hoekstra, who struck out eight Bombers batters in six innings, giving up just four baserunners in 83 pitches thrown. Lake Cowman continued his mid-season surge, going 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and two runs batted in. Landyn Bethards was 2-for-3 at the dish as well. Pella has won six games in a row to improve to 11-3 overall, and another road trip to the Raccoon River Conference is on the docket tonight as they travel to Gilbert with the softball team for single varsity contests.
