The Indianola School Board set a special meeting date of June 26th at 7am to replace board member Rob Keller, who sent a letter of resignation after moving out of the district.
Per board policy, the board will appoint an individual to fill the position until the next regular election, which will take place in November. During that election, the vacated position will appear on the ballot and the individual elected to fill the vacated position will be elected for the next two years.
Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News the board and members of the community spoke at the meeting thanking Keller for his service.
“We want to give Director Keller kudos and a lot of thank you’s for filling this role. He was the president during covid, and anybody who remembers that time knows it was up and down and here is what we know right now. And that leadership, to move the district forward during that time, was huge.”
