Knoxville City Council to Consider Change to Fireworks Ordinance Monday

Published On:

The Knoxville City Council will consider a change to the city’s fireworks ordinance Monday.

The change in the ordinance would now allow fireworks to be discharged by consumers in the city limits on July 3rd, July 4th, and December 31st. This is due to a change in state legislation, where communities now have to allow fireworks to be discharged on those days. Also at the meeting, the council will look to approve three more facade improvement grant applications, have discussion and take possible action regarding the facade application process, and hold a public hearing and approve the construction contract for this year’s improvements. Also at the meeting, the council will consider a resolution setting salaries/wages for appointed officers and non-collective bargaining unit employees of the City of Knoxville for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1st.

Monday’s Knoxville City Council meeting will start at 6:15 pm at City Hall.
