Scattered thunderstorms could develop in the region beginning Tuesday evening and continuing through Wednesday morning. According to the National Weather Service, a slight risk for both severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall have been issued for that timeframe. If thunderstorms develop, they could produce large hail and damaging winds, and also be slow-moving in nature, which could produce rainfall amounts of 1-3″ in many communities. The storms will likely be hit-or-miss in nature, meaning some areas may not get any rainfall at all and others heavy rain in a matter of miles. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team provides live on-air coverage of any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning in Marion, Warren, and Jasper Counties.
