This weekend, a Newton athlete will compete among the top athletes in the nation at the Nike Outdoor Nationals, following an outstanding junior season for the Cardinals on the track and in general.
This weekend in Eugene, Oregon, Newton native Caden Klein is competing in the sprinting circuit. Klein competes in races that are 100, 200, and 400 meters long.See his itinerary and real-time results here.
With the quickest time in the 200-meter dash across all classes at the state event in May and honors in the 400-meter hurdles, Klein was named an Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association Elite All-State multiple times. Additionally, Caden played a significant role in Newton’s first-ever Class 3A team championship.
