There will be doubleheaders on several nights throughout the hectic week of games for the Knoxville Boys and Girls of Summer. Tonight, the baseball Panthers take on Eddyville-Blakesburg in a doubleheader. The Panthers will attempt to keep within striking distance of Chariton, with whom they will play another doubleheader later this week, after splitting a doubleheader with Centerville on Friday. This week’s schedule wasn’t meant to be this hectic, but Coach Tuner Devore tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that the Panthers have make-up games because of the weather, and he just wants his team to play and win the week.
Devore: It becomes rather challenging once you have all of those games figured out. You have no idea how long our game against Davis County will be suspended. All we need to do is get by and consider winning the week.
Softball’s schedule is just as hectic, including challenging non-conference games and make-up games against Chariton and Cardinal. Like Devore, coach Chris Peden encourages his ladies to compete and stick with the process. Tune in to 95.3 KNIA to watch the second baseball game live.
