Indianola and Newton Softball Suspended in the Fourth Inning Monday Night

Published On:

Due to bad weather, Monday night’s Indianola vs. Newton softball game was halted in the fourth inning.

The Little Hawkeye Conference game was formally postponed in the fourth quarter after a few delays due to lightning and severe rain, with the Indians leading the Cardinals 13–6. During the game, the Cardinals responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning after the Indians scored five in the top of the first. As the Cardinals only managed one more run in the second, Indianola went on to score four more in the second and four more in the third to completely blow the game up.

A date will be decided upon for the continuation of the game. The Newton softball team’s next game is Wednesday at Norwalk, where they will go to Clarke tonight.
