Thunderstorms in the fourth inning of Norwalk’s softball and baseball games versus Oskaloosa on Wednesday caused both games to be postponed. No completion dates were specified. In an effort to avoid the predicted rain, which came just after 5:00, both varsity games began at 4:00 p.m.
On kniakrls.com, the baseball game was broadcast live (KNIA3). When the Warriors came to bat in the bottom of the fourth, Oskaloosa was ahead 5-1 after scoring four runs on a single hit in the top of the first.
The Norwalk softball team, ranked second in Class 4A, led Oskaloosa 4-0 at the end of the fourth inning after scoring three runs in the first. It’s conceivable that the game will be finished later.
On Wednesday, both Warrior teams will play their first games of the season when they host Indianola in doubleheaders in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The first softball game will start at 5:30 p.m., while the baseball twin bill will start at 5:00 p.m.
