PCM Softball Wins Suspended Game at Perry to Clinch Conference Title, Baseball and Softball Defeat South Hamilton

While the baseball and softball teams won conference games at South Hamilton, the PCM softball team won a suspended game at Perry Wednesday to secure a Heart of Iowa Conference championship.

Earlier in the day, the #3 Mustang softball team resumed a game that had been postponed earlier in the season due to bad weather, defeating Perry. In just five innings, PCM won 12-0. Libby Winters got eight strikeouts in five innings of work while only allowing two hits. Camden Webb went 2-3 with a run, a double, and two RBI; Kyra Naeve went 2-3 with two runs and an RBI; Tori Lindsay went 2-4 with two runs, an RBI, and a stolen base; and Addie Hudnut went 2-2 at the plate with a run, a double, a hit by pitch, and four RBI.

Five innings into their game versus South Hamilton, the Mustangs won 11-1. Camden Webb had 10 strikeouts while pitching all five innings with just one hit and one run allowed. Hadley Millang went 2-3 with a run and RBI, Tori Lindsay went 2-3 with a run, double, RBI, and a hit by pitch, and Kyra Naeve had a fantastic game at the plate going 3-4 with two runs, a double, and a stolen base. The PCM softball team’s season record now stands at 18-2.

The Hawks were defeated 6-2 against the Mustang baseball team. Trenner Van Dyke pitched two innings with four strikeouts and one run allowed, while Kaleb DeVries won with five innings pitched with six strikeouts and one run allowed. On the field, Carson Hansen went 1-2, Jaden Houser went 1-3, and Alex Wendt went 2-2 with a double, walk, hit by pitch, and an RBI. Overall, the PCM baseball team improves to 7-9.

Tonight, the PCM softball and baseball teams will make the trip to Pella Christian.
