The Dutch summer teams suffered two defeats on Monday: the Dutch girls lost to the #2 in 4A Dallas Center-Grimes 8-0, and the #2 in 3A baseball team lost to Mount Vernon 4-3.

Even though the odds were stacked against them, the Pella softball team concluded their conference season on the road with a 9-8 record overall and broke a seven-game winning streak after losing 8-0 in the fourth inning to a suspended contest. This evening, the Dutch girls traveled to #7 in 4A North Polk.

The Pella baseball team fell behind 2-0 at the top of the first inning and never recovered to take the lead at home. Five hits and a hit-by-pitch allowed the Dutch batsmen to produce just six baserunners overall. Pella allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out nine Mustang batters. With two runs batted in, Isaiah Kettler was one for three, and Anderson Schirm recorded a triple at the plate. Pella is back in action tonight at Grinnell after dropping to 19-6 overall.
