The Trojan softball team upset the Roadrunners on Monday night, and Luke Adreon’s Pleasantville baseball club won the West Central Conference title at Interstate 35 in his first season as head coach.

Caylor Jones earned the victory on the mound after lasting six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and recording nine strikeouts as the #2-ranked Trojans defeated Interstate 35 5-2. Then, in the seventh inning, Brayden Kennedy entered the game and struck out the side to earn the save. Kennedy had a double and an RBI, and Logan Roff had two hits. The Pleasantville baseball team’s season record now stands at 24-1.

The Roadrunners were defeated 5-2 by the Trojan softball team. Taylor Perkins recorded a single and two doubles, while Ella Clark recorded two singles, giving Pleasantville a total of nine hits during the game. Lainey Kennedy grabbed the victory by throwing all seven innings with three strikeouts and only one earned run allowed. Ella Clark had four significant defensive putouts during the game, including three diving catches and one at the fence, according to coach Alee Phillips, who also praised her defenders for playing well. The Pleasantville softball team’s season record now stands at 15-8.

Tonight, the Pleasantville softball and baseball teams will go to Madrid.
