Both the softball and baseball teams at PCM won on Tuesday night.
Perry, a team in the Heart of Iowa Conference, was defeated 11-2 by the Mustang baseball team. Trenner Van Dyke pitched six innings for PCM, getting ten strikeouts while allowing four hits and one earned run. Kaleb DeVries went 2-4 with an RBI, and Jaden Houser had a fantastic night at the plate, going 3-3 with a stolen base. In the competition, five other Mustangs recorded hits, for a team total of ten. Overall, the PCM baseball team improves to 5-7.
On the road, the #4-ranked PCM softball team upset #9 East Marshall 4–2. PCM scored four runs in the sixth inning to win the game, even though they were behind 2-0 going into the inning. For the Mustangs, Camden Webb pitched six innings, recording seven strikeouts and allowing six hits and one run. Tori Lindsay and Libby Winters hit late doubles to knot the game at two, while Webb also went 2-3 at the plate with a double. Then, Hadley Millang took the lead with a two-run blast. The PCM softball team’s season record now stands at 13-1.
Tonight, the PCM softball and baseball teams will play Greene County.
