With a 19-2 record going into the contest, the Class 4A #4 Warriors softball team had won seven straight games, including the doubleheader at Davenport Central on Wednesday. The Warriors defeated Norwalk 15-1 and 13-1 in their most recent meeting on the softball diamond, which took place on June 2nd at Eagle Lane. Since 2009, Norwalk has won the previous 11 games between the two schools and is 31-10 in the softball series.
After splitting the doubleheader, the Eagles baseball team is hoping to build on the momentum from Monday’s second game versus Newton. Earlier this week, Pella Christian lost to the Cardinals 6-5 in their opening game, but they recovered to win the nightcap 16-1. After winning their last three games to improve to 9-8 overall, the Warriors baseball club enters the contest hoping to maintain their record above.500. When the two teams met in early June, Norwalk swept Pella Christian, winning the first game 16-1 and the second 7-1. Since 2009, the Warriors have won the previous ten meetings and have a 33-10 series advantage over the Eagles.
