Newton Farmer’s Market Has Extended Hours Today

There are numerous unique attractions at the Newton Farmer’s Market, which will be open an additional hour today. The new Legacy Plaza Greenspace hosted the season’s first Farmer’s Market last Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. With more than 30 vendors, it went really well, according to market manager Nikki Brain.

There will be twice as many vendors as previously, along with food trucks and live music. As a result, there was a great deal of coordination, and everything went smoothly.

Every Tuesday from June through September, weather permitting, the Newton Farmer’s Market is hosted. The regular hours are 4 to 6 p.m., but on the third Tuesday of the month, the closing time is moved to 7 p.m., and additional attractions and activities are offered. Other festivities for today include a WHO Great Iowa Tractor Ride parade with at least 30 tractors, a KNIA/KRLS Lil Big Red Radio appearance, kid-friendly activities including balloon animals and temporary tattoos, and live music by iNFUZion on the Green Space from 5 to 7 p.m. According to Brain, food trucks such as Cuisine Queen, Kikis, Frankie’s Barbecue, and Outside Scoop Ice Cream will be on hand. Among them are the Lucky Wife Wine Slushie Truck.
