The Venezuelan Little League baseball team is, to put it mildly, discouraged by Trump’s travel ban! Even though they qualified for the Senior League Baseball World Series, they were denied entry to the United States. They will not be present in the South Carolina series on Saturday.
They will not be able to play in the World Series as they had hoped and worked so hard for because of the travel prohibition. The head of the Cacique Mara Little League claims that despite applying two weeks in advance, they were not granted a visa.
Under Trump’s leadership, all visitors from Venezuela are prohibited from entering the US. “The players are demoralized,” said the league president. They simply wanted to respect Venezuela and Latin America, he said.

They aspired to win the World Cup despite only being 15 years old. They just know how to play baseball, but they have put in a lot of effort to earn it. These children cannot pose a threat to American security.
This is also disheartening for the young athletes, according to Little League International. The Venezuelan team will be replaced with a Little League team from Victoria, Mexico, as they are unable to participate in the series.

William Castillo, the deputy minister of Venezuela, accused Marco Rubio of being the reason behind the visa’s denial. The baseball championship was supposed to feature these 15-year-olds. This is an attack on Venezuela, and they deserved better.
This is a limiting measure, he continued. The Cuban women’s national volleyball team experienced a similar situation earlier this month when their visas were refused, preventing them from participating in the tournament.

Foreign people from Cuba, Venezuela, Togo, and Laos, to mention a few, are the subject of Trump’s travel restriction. While there is a total prohibition from Chad, Haiti, Iran, Libra, Sudan, and Yemen, this ban is only partial.
Visa exemptions from the travel restriction are intended for countries that are subject to a partial ban. But this time, the baseball team was denied a visa.
We’ll see which nations are granted visas to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics, two upcoming sporting events hosted by the United States. In the end, Rubio will make the choice.
