According to people, a horrible event occurred in Arkansas where a husband and wife were killed while out trekking with their two daughters. Authorities and the local community were shocked by the attack, which happened while the family was hiking in the Ozark National Forest.

According to the press release by Arkansas State Police (ASP), the victims were identified as Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, who were with their two daughters, aged 7 and 9, at the time. Since the suspect has not yet been apprehended, local and federal law enforcement agencies have been involved in a widespread manhunt.

According to the officials, the culprit left the area right away after injuring the family, and the attack happened on a lonely route. According to PEOPLE, police responded at the Washington County park shortly after receiving notification of the double killing at approximately 2:40 p.m. local time. According to the police, the family recently relocated from another state to Prairie Grove, Arkansas, which is roughly 15 miles from the Oklahoma border.

According to the ASP press statement, investigators are requesting that anybody who went to the park on Saturday look for pictures of the suspect in GoPro camera footage or cellphone pictures and videos. Residents who live close to the park are also being asked to let ASP know if they have access to security and game camera footage.

Additionally, the authorities have cautioned that posting any pertinent video to social media could unintentionally compromise the investigation. The suspect was observed driving a black, four-door vehicle toward a park exit while wearing fingerless gloves and carrying a rucksack, according to the police. According to reports, the suspect went to State Highways 170 or 220 close to the park where the murders occurred.

Authorities stated that the family was attacked while hiking in a remote and rural region of the park, where there is no cellphone connection, thick foliage, and rugged terrain.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at Devil’s Den State Park,” said Shea Lewis, secretary of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism. During this extremely trying time, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ loved ones.

“As fully commissioned law enforcement officers, our Park Rangers are actively involved in ensuring the safety and security of our park guests,” Lewis continued. We are still dedicated to helping the current investigation and keeping Arkansas State Parks a friendly, safe environment for everyone.

Officials are also searching for any potential motive that could have led to the crime while the investigation is ongoing. Due to an unresolved crime that occurred there, the park is also still off-limits to the general public.
