Donald Trump made an appearance on Newsmax’s Finnerty show on August 1st, ostensibly for a talk on the future. However, the audience was treated to something quite different from a clear description of policies: an oddly flirty monologue aimed at his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt. Although the purpose of the program was to showcase Trump’s vision for America, it instead focused primarily on Leavitt’s looks and, surprise!, her lips!
During the conversation, Rob Finnerty appeared genuinely shocked to see Leavitt there. While warning Trump, “If you don’t want to answer this, I didn’t realize she would be in the room,” he brought up her name. However, Trump didn’t flinch. He drew out the word lips with a smirk and a sidelong glance, saying, “It’s that face, it’s that brain, it’s those lips, the way they move like she’s a machine gun.”
“Is she in the room?” he then inquired. already being aware of the solution.
Trump portrayed Leavitt as a White House weapon and kind of a Bond girl with a sentence. His clumsy delivery of the complement, even if it was intended as a compliment, caused discomfort, similar to Michael Scott’s State of the Union speech in The Offices.
Users of X (previously Twitter) were unreserved in their criticism of the situation. One comment was spot on: Is Melania reviewing her prenuptial agreement? He seems to be searching for a new wife. Another user said, “My bosses would have been in front of HR right away if they had ever spoken negatively about any of their female employees.” Furthermore, no Donald Trump controversy would be complete without rumors of Monica Lewinsky or Jeffrey Epstein making an appearance in the comments.
The unpleasant situation was exacerbated by Leavitt’s response—or lack thereof.
Part of the issue was that we couldn’t see how she handled the high accolades. It’s unclear if she thought it was hilarious or if she merely put up with the discomfort for work. She doesn’t appear to mind that Trump frequently refers to her as “honey” during briefings. She even said on the Ruthless podcast, “He always says, Just have fun, honey, before I take the podium.”
Is it merely informal disdain or a cute nickname?
Even though Leavitt’s job entails keeping a tight eye on Donald Trump, the two appear to be very close. As seen by the Instagram photos of them laughing and sharing a golf cart, their July trip to Scotland was full of amicable moments. During a video tour, Karoline Leavitt even proudly highlighted the prominent Trump portrait hanging in her workplace.

Their relationship predates the White House by a long way.
In college, Leavitt was an outspoken Trump fan who even wrote a defense of him for her school newspaper. She eventually joined his 2024 campaign after working for him as an assistant press secretary during an internship. Their bond seemed to have only gotten stronger with time. After her kid was born in July 2024, Donald Trump called to congratulate her, a thoughtful gesture that apparently meant a lot to her.
Leavitt extols her supervisor on her own, displaying the kind of profound respect one would anticipate from someone who genuinely believes in them. She said in March that he was absolutely one of the funniest persons she had ever met and a fantastic storyteller.
But is she putting up with sexist conduct just because she lives at the center of power, as implied by those remarks?
Question:
Do you think that America will once again be great under Trump?

Melania Trump has suddenly found herself in the center of an online debate, although she has mostly avoided the spotlight. Due to jokes about her prenuptial agreement and comparisons to Monica Lewinsky, her name is currently trending worldwide on the internet, which is not the kind of attention her team had planned for.
Given how frequently Karoline Leavitt continues to appear with Donald Trump in social and business settings, the episode has raised additional concerns about the First Lady’s connection with him, even if she didn’t react—and most likely won’t.
It appears that Trump’s propensity to talk first and ponder later could be the biggest blow to his career.
