In their growing conflict with Lauren Sanchez’s estranged brother, Michael Sanchez, Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez, are requesting close to $190,000 in legal fees. The demand follows Michael’s defamation action against the two, which he filed but lost.
The pair filed a request in California Superior Court on July 28 seeking $182,374 in attorney’s fees and $8,182 in legal costs, according to court documents that Page Six was able to access. These costs were incurred in conjunction with her Motion for Attorney’s Fees and Costs and (1) her successful Special Motion to Strike.
Michael’s case was characterized by Lauren’s legal team as a multi-year campaign of harassment aimed at obtaining a settlement that he was not entitled to, according to The Daily Beast. This problem arose immediately following the June 27, 2025, wedding of the Amazon founder and Lauren in Venice, Italy.
An estimated $55 million was spent on the wedding. Several A-list celebrities and business associates attended the dinner, and according to sources, their attorneys charge between $549 and $1,125 per hour.
Michael filed a defamation lawsuit when it was alleged that he gave the National Enquirer n-de images and text messages. Jeff, who had close ties to Michael, filed a countersuit under California’s Anti-SLAPP statute, which is intended to swiftly reject false or unfounded claims.
Bezos was already granted $218,385 in legal fees in 2021, but the dispute is still going strong in 2025. Declaring his version of victory, Michael defiantly attacked the two in a statement, accusing them of being dishonest and dishonest as well as the legal system of being crooked.

Tensions between the two, which started in 2019 when Lauren Sanchez’s brother realized that Jeff and her relationship was more than just a passing romance, reportedly prevented Michael from being invited to his sister’s notorious wedding. He genuinely cared about his sister, and he was worried about her. When they first met, Jeff and Lauren were both married to other people, and Michael wanted to shield his sister in case something went wrong.
Furthermore, folks had a lot to say—and rightfully so—when The National Enquirer broke the news that the two were deeply in love. One of the most well-known and wealthy people in the world was Lauren Sanchez’s partner. Despite the couple’s desire to keep their relationship quiet, Michael is said to have told the outlet.

However, Michael gave an evasive response in a 2020 Vanity Fair interview, stating, “I’m not saying I didn’t do something.” What I can tell you now, before I take an oath, is that my sole objective has been to keep Jeff and Lauren safe ever since I met Jeff on April 20. He went on to say that his sister had a different viewpoint.
In 2020, he sued Bezos for defamation, claiming he had been falsely accused of disclosing confidential information. He covertly gave The National Enquirer my most private information, which is a profound and terrible betrayal, Lauren added without holding back. This false and unjustified lawsuit is causing my family great distress, and we sincerely hope that my brother finds peace.
The media has accused Lauren of being a manipulator and exploiting the millionaire businessman to realize her ideal life, even though she has been in the news for her purported plastic surgery makeovers. Jeff and Lauren are currently living their best lives while enjoying their summer in Europe, and they have no opinions about their enemies.
Most recently, they were spotted having a good time in Ibiza and even going on a double date with Vittoria Ceretti and Leonardo DiCaprio on Bezos’s $500 million superyacht, Koru.
