Trump’s Inhumanity Reaches Another Height as 4-Year-Old American Boy with Stage 4 Cancer Is Deported to Honduras with Mom

Donald Trump’s actions have sparked a tsunami of criticism ever since he took office for the second time. The hard core deportation crackdown is one example. And that is deserving of criticism because, well, why not? Their lives are in danger, and even defenseless youngsters are not spared. A disabled child was recently placed in handcuffs by ICE due to a case of mistaken identity.

It is evident to all that Trump’s strict immigration policies have already caused suffering. It has caused outrage across the nation, split up families, and deported children who are citizens of the United States.

Another heartbreaking instance is now coming up. After being denied access to life-saving care, a 4-year-old American boy with Stage 4 kidney cancer and his mother were deported to Honduras.

According to a federal lawsuit, two U.S. citizen children and their families—including a 4-year-old Louisiana boy receiving treatment for Stage 4 kidney cancer—were deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement without following the proper procedures.NKQfMj5thX https://t.co/l5CwyAY7TBpic.twitter.com

The boy, named Romeo in court filings, was one of three siblings born in the United States who were apprehended during an immigration raid, according to a recently filed federal lawsuit. Before being deported, his two-year-old and seven-year-old sisters—both of whom are citizens of the United States—were taken into custody along with their moms.

A 4-year-old citizen with Stage 4 cancer was deported by the Trump administration, and they lied about it. He was allowed to stay in the US because his mother did not want to take him with her and was refused basic due process and the chance to speak with family. The National Immigration Project and three law firms filed the lawsuit, which claims that the families were unlawfully deported without even the barest minimum of due process. Under the aliases Rosario and Julia, the moms claim they pleaded with their kids to stay in the United States so that arrangements could be made for their care. However, they assert that they were not given the opportunity to speak with lawyers or relatives.

Romeo’s tale is particularly heartbreaking. He has been receiving vital, continuous therapy in the United States since being diagnosed at age 2 with a rare and dangerous form of kidney cancer. According to the lawsuit, his forcible removal jeopardized his life and interfered with that care.

Attorney Stephanie Alvarez-Jones told NBC News that this is representative of what happens when the administration is intent on deportations: you will end up with erroneous and illegal deportations.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, ICE offered the women the choice to leave their children with a designated caretaker. Officials maintain that before deportation, appropriate medical accommodations are always made. However, proponents of immigrant rights argue that instances such as this one, which includes earlier accounts of a 10-year-old girl recuperating from a brain tumor transported to Mexico, provide a very different picture.

Tom Homan’s pitiful operation resulted in the deportation of this 10-year-old American citizen, who was on her way to a medical checkup with a swollen brain following her recovery from cancer, because her parents lacked documentation.

In addition to the return of the families to the United States, the case demands damages, a jury trial, and a ruling that the arrests and removals were illegal. Romeo believes that the conflict goes beyond immigration legislation. It has to do with what separates life from death.
