Jack Schlossberg has long been an opponent of Trump. Now that he has a new position at last, the grandson of John F. Kennedy will have a strong foundation to fight the Republican president. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has named Schlossberg to the America250 Commission.
Someone who will ensure that America’s 250th birthday honors our country and its ideals is what we need. And after posting a video of himself with the 32-year-old JFK grandson on social media, Schumer declared, “I can’t think of a better person than Jack to take on that mission.”
“I’m so proud to appoint Jack to the America250 Commission, which will be in charge of how we celebrate our great 250th birthday,” Chuck Schumer tells him in the attached video.
“Why am I putting Jack there?” he added. We are aware that Donald Trump will attempt to exaggerate the situation and turn it into a part of his ego. Jack, you’re the best guy to argue against that.
Trump will undoubtedly want to take that 250 cake and shove it in his face and the faces of his billionaire friends, but I know you will be there and make sure that when we celebrate our 250th birthday, we remember that America is a country of justice, equal justice, unity (E Pluribus Unum), and treating everyone with dignity. He will be stopped by you.
I am pleased to report that Jack Schlossberg of JBKSchlossberg has been appointed to the America 250 Commission.

In response, Jack Schlossberg thanked the Senate for the appointment and said, “We are proud to be the descendants of our first revolution.”
Schumer told him, “Your job is to fight back, and I know you will.” He responded, “I will make you proud.”
Donald Trump has made an effort in recent months to exert more authority over the America250 Commission, which was once established as a bipartisan endeavor. The president’s designated commissioner, Ariel Abergel, reportedly demanded the resignations of four Republican commissioners in an attempt to replace them with more Trump-friendly individuals, according to an article published in The Atlantic.
250 years old! America’s most significant birthday to date.
Serving on this US Semiquincentennial Commission is an honor!
We appreciate @SenSchumer’s leadership during this crucial time, as well as this appointment and responsibility.
I will not disappoint you.This link: https://t.co/55dno9KXYE

Schlossberg recognized the present problem over the country’s impending 250th birthday. “At this time, our civil rights, equal justice, and scientific progress are being attacked,” he stated in his video with Schumer. “I want to make sure that we celebrate our country for all of its colors, and there is no more important task than celebrating our history for the sake of our future.”
In addition to Jack, the commission also includes Paul R. Tetreault, the director of the Ford Theatre, Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Alex Padilla, and Reps. Dwight Evans and Bonnie Watson Coleman.
