America’s favorite governor, Gavin Newsom of California, is back at it, but this time he’s mocking Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, rather than the president himself. On social media this week, the Democrat governor, who has made it a habit to make fun of Trump online, reverted to his Trump-like keyboard warrior image by angrily denouncing Fox News and Lara Trump.

Newsom embraced the opportunity to reverse Trump’s well-known practice of ranting on social media over Fox programming. In a further insult, Newsom said, “Lara Trump’s show is a complete disaster.” Very low energy, no personality, and no talent. She desperately needs her crazy father-in-law’s coaching!
Newsom s New Target: Lara Trump
Long a fixture on Fox News, Lara Trump is the wife of Trump’s son Eric. She joined the network in 2021, but because of her father-in-law’s presidential campaign, she left the following year. She has been hosting My View With Lara Trump on Fox since February, a weekend show that features talking points that are appropriate for MAGAs.

The war in Ukraine, her father-in-law’s recent meeting with Vladimir Putin, and the so-called Russia, Russia, Russia hoax were all discussed in her most recent episode. Even though Newsom wasn’t addressed on the show, he nonetheless launched his Twitter parody routine. Lara has already attacked Newsom, claiming that he left California by allowing illegal immigration to get out of hand. Her remarks most likely served as gasoline for Newsom’s most recent round of trolling.
A Swipe, Then a Compliment
Newsom tossed one unexpected bouquet amid the trolling: Jessica Tarlov, co-host of The Five on Fox. He praised the network’s one consistent opposition voice on Trump, writing, “A REAL WINNER.” Republicans may despise Newsom’s aggressive strategy, but Tarlov herself stated on live that it is unquestionably effective.
What about Fox’s other weekend talent and her co-hosts? Newsom didn’t mince words. QUIT THE FOX NEWS STINKERS IMMEDIATELY! They should no longer be permitted to contaminate our airwaves! The governor of California has become one of the most vocal Democratic counterattackers in the Trump era, and he has been slowly honing his arguments. His online character, which alternates between humorous internet showman and polished politician, has garnered him both admirers and detractors.
One thing is certain, regardless of whether you view it as shrewd political theater or desperate attention-grabbing: Newsom has discovered a new Trump to spar with, and he isn’t spending any time getting under her skin.
