For the first time since its most recent design was finished, people were able to see the White House’s famous Rose Garden. Additionally, Melania Trump and Donald Trump are being heavily criticized on social media for paving over the grassy lawn.
The First Lady is credited with carrying out the renovation, and it is being alleged that she has adopted Trump’s style by following the other design changes the president has made to the White House in recent weeks, including the glazing of the Oval Office.
In reaction to the new images, one commenter on X commented, “I know it’s nothing in the big picture of all the awful and horrific things he’s done.” However, I will give extra points to the next contestant who runs and promises to return it to the rose garden.
In a Friday interview, Trump called some battles “very beautiful,” which sparked all of these remarks from online users.
He told Laura Ingraham of Fox News, “You know, we use [the Rose Garden] for press conferences, and it doesn’t work because the people fall.” Some women may find the soft ground problematic, and the landscape can be damp; wearing high heels simply didn’t work. Another X user said, “I don’t understand why they paved over it.” “I assume for events,” he added, “but they’re now building a massive ballroom for events.” On the grass, you may have erected a volleyball net. Even better, set up some slip and slides.
According to the pictures, the grass is bordered on all sides by rose bushes and covered in square pavers and white plain. The goal, according to Donald Trump in March, is to transform grass into something more like a presidential patio.

According to sources, the garden would likely undergo additional installments before being finished by mid-August 2025. The National Park Service is making the modifications, and the project is being funded by the Trust for the National Mall.
In response to the pictures, an X user wrote, “Very terrible.” Couldn’t they come up with a better design and better materials? It appears to have been assembled using leftover parts, however perhaps the lighting is poor.
On the other hand, Melania Trump was heavily criticized for the first modifications she made to the Rose Garden in 2020 during Donald Trump’s first term as president. NBC News historian Michael Beschloss characterized the design as “gloomy.” Additionally, one X user commented, “This looks like a f ing public pool,” while another added, “He doesn’t like green unless it’s money.”
