Viral social media images rekindled allegations that US President Donald Trump boasted about listening in on beauty pageant contestants in their changing rooms while they were naked. He particularly boasted about entering the changing rooms of Miss Teen USA contestants, many of whom were minors, according to subsequent tweets.
Several tweets claimed that Trump owned Miss USA, Miss Universe, and Miss Teen USA, among other beauty pageants. They did not, however, specify which pageant contestants’ rooms he reportedly boasted about breaking into.On The Howard Stern Show, Trump allegedly admitted to radio host Howard Stern that he had interrupted Miss Teen USA contestants who were 14 to 16 years old in multiple posts.
When I go backstage before a Miss Teen USA performance, there are no men there and everyone is getting ready and dressed. Additionally, since I own the pageant, I am permitted entry.
Former contestants in the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA beauty pageants made the charges. When Trump boasted of walking in on participants, he was alluding to Miss USA or Miss Universe pageants, which feature contenders who are at least eighteen years old. In the passage above, he appeared to boast about interrupting Miss Teen USA candidates, but in reality, he made a sincere comment to Stern.
However, the finalists for Miss USA and Miss Teen USA have leveled serious charges against Trump, alleging that he entered their dressing rooms decades ago when they were half n-de (a claim Trump’s spokesman denied in 2016). Although Trump did not admit to entering the room with children, he did admit to Stern that he had behaved inappropriately in past pageants. We are unable to verify or deny their precise claims.
The craziest thing, he continued, is that before a show, I walk backstage and watch everyone getting dressed and doing other things. There are no men there, and I’m permitted to enter as I run the pageant and am therefore checking it out. I am conducting this inspection to ensure that everything is in order. [] The outfits, you know. Are things going well for everyone? They are standing there naked, you know. Is everyone doing well? I kind of get away with things like that because you see these gorgeous women. However, I’ve been excellent.

From 1995 to 2015, Trump was a co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, which organized the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. CNN analyzed excerpts of Trump’s several conversations with Stern in 2016 and said they demonstrated his frequent denigration of women.
According to CNN, Trump said, “I never comment on things like that,” in response to Stern’s inquiry in an April 2005 broadcast about whether he had ever had sex with Miss USA or Miss Universe contestants.
In 2005, Mr. President admitted to doing so in his own words with regard to certain pageants (either Miss USA or Miss Universe). His assistants, however, would dispute that he ever behaved in such way years later.
Some of us all elected this president. The pageant was his. Some of the females were underage, and he entered while they were changing. It’s not locker room conversation. It’s abuse by a powerful predator.yaOue2IrQB #TrumpisaNationalDisgracepic.twitter.com

Some former Miss Teen USA candidates, meanwhile, have accused him of going into their changing room. In a 2016 Buzzfeed News investigation, nearly six former Miss Teen USA competitors said that Trump had entered their changing rooms as they were getting dressed; some of the girls were reportedly 15 years old at the time.
Though they were about Miss USA and Miss Universe, not Miss Teen USA, it is clear that the President boasted about entering the contestants’ changing rooms. However, real claims from previous Miss Teen USA and Miss USA contestants backed up rumors that he had behaved illegally.
“I remember putting on my dress really quickly because I was like, Oh my god, there’s a man in here,” said Mariah Billado, the former Miss Vermont Teen USA. Trump then added, “Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve seen it all before,” according to her.
It’s hard to say for sure, though, if Trump stormed into the changing rooms. Only his contradictory statements and his accusers’ charges remain, as the occurrences occurred decades ago.
