Donald Trump appears to be spending our tax funds carelessly as the government makes cuts and people look for ways to save money. As it happens, it’s a weekend pastime of his own.
According to a HuffPost investigation, Obama has cost us an incredible $18.2 million in the first few weeks of his second term. The primary cause? He continues to visit his upscale golf courses in Florida. By the way, we’re discussing six of the seven weekends!
He probably needed a rest from all that swinging, which is why he missed the one.
Let’s add some realism to this: according to data from the Government Accountability Office in 2017, each trip to Mar-a-Lago costs about $3.38 million dollars. Alongside Donald Trump, this high cost includes Air Force One, the C-17 military planes that will bring his entourage in his automobile, all the security personnel, the danger-sniffing dogs, the law enforcement personnel there, and the police boats equipped with machine guns.

This isn’t your average game of golf; it’s like relocating a little fortress. This is taking place during an administration that established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is meant to save costs, isn’t that correct? However, while the president’s trips continue to get more costly, they are reducing programs that benefit everyday people like you and me.
Donald Trump ended up spending over $151.5 million playing golf during his first term in office.
It now appears that he will surpass that figure. Furthermore, since the money is being spent at properties he owns, such as his golf courses in Doral and West Palm Beach, a large portion of it is truly going into his personal wallets.
Last year at Doral, the President played through us on the back nine, which was one of the most bizarre events on the golf course. When we finally noticed roughly 20 carts on one hole, a few behind us, we couldn’t understand why no one was actually surrounding us on the course. I questioned the caddiepic.twitter.com/TRguDChfLq

Some people are not happy about this and are accusing him of utilizing taxpayer money to enrich himself. The House Oversight Committee is even investigating it after discovering that the Secret Service was being overcharged for its stay. At one point, the cost of a hotel reached $1,815 per night, about three times the amount that the government typically permits.
Let’s now discuss his sportsmanship—or rather, the absence of it.
Trump’s golf game has been the subject of much discussion, and not all of it is positive. In his candid essay Commander in Cheat, sportswriter Rick Reilly essentially asserts that Donald Trump is the best at breaking the law. Reilly claims that the man is a major cheater, and he’s not just talking about the occasional white lie!
The fact that Trump cheats at golf like it’s his profession is well known. Commander in Cheat by Rick Reilly is an essential read. He discusses Trump’s infidelity in considerable detail, which is obviously not shocking.image.twitter.com/VZB7VIMpue

Even actor Samuel L. Jackson commented on the Daily Mail previously, claiming that he was the superior player because: I don’t cheat. Furthermore, Trump isn’t getting his hands dirty. Anthony Anderson, an actor, claims that his caddie is involved in the dubious industry.
Donald Trump continues to play golf at taxpayer expense with the same fervor he uses to promote himself, even while the budget cuts severely impair government functions. Perhaps even a little self-deception mixed in as well?
