Senior Faith Kacmarynski blasted a pair of three-run homers Thursday night to power the Pella Christian softball team to a dominant 15-2 victory in four innings on the road at Lynnville-Sully.
The Eagles opened the game with three runs in the top of the first inning, and the Hawks responded with their lone two runs in the bottom of the frame, but from there it was all Pella Christian. Faith’s first three-run shot in the bottom of the second pushed the lead to 6-2, before Brynn Roozeboom followed that up two batters later with a two-run homer of her own to make it 8-2. The Eagles added on two runs in the third inning on a pair of singles from Chloe Snyder and Brynn Roozeboom that plated Brynn Runner and Nora Van Arendonk. Pella Christian wrapped up the scoring in the fourth, as Maddy Van Zee scored on an error off the bat of Rachel Kacmarynski, Faith added her second three-run homer, and Snyder blasted a solo homer for the Eagles’ fourth long ball of the night.
Faith went 2-2 at the plate with the two home runs to post a team-high six RBIs and two walks in the win, while Snyder and Roozeboom each went 3-4 with a homer and two runs scored. Roozeboom added four RBIs and Snyder recorded three runs batted in, as Pella Christian improved to 3-10 overall on the season. Laurel Roozeboom struck out four in recording the complete game win in the circle, while giving up just two unearned runs on one hit and a walk.
