If space and finances permit, it’s pleasant to stretch your legs, have a strong drink, relax, and let all of your unpleasant thoughts and turbulence to fade away as you travel to a far-off place while you’re soaring high in the friendly skies.
It goes without saying that you can only ever truly unwind in a compressed air tube hurtling through the sky at wildly unnatural speeds if you have total faith in the competence and expertise of the man in the cockpit as well as the honesty and professionalism of the cabin staff.
You want to know you’re in good hands when you’re flying through the sky, when anything might go wrong at any time.
Finding a flight attendant in the restroom of a plane, completely nude and high on drugs, is the last thing you want. It is difficult to calm someone who does not fly frequently with such annoying and strange behavior.
However, that was precisely the situation that recently faced passengers on a British Airways trip from California to London.
According to The Mirror, Haden Pentecost, 41, of Basingstoke, was arrested on a plane for using narcotics to perform an aviation role.
Sweating, mumbling, and furious, the flight attendant exploded out of the plane’s restroom. It appeared that he was not conscious that he was naked and mentally ill.
According to reports, coworkers realized something was wrong with their colleague when he missed any pre-flight tests and complained of stomach problems.
Before locking himself in the toilet, he said that he required a change of clothes.
He exploded out of the toilet, naked and agitated, the next time his crew members saw him. A female coworker noticed that he was unaware that he was naked and assisted him in getting dressed appropriately before escorting him to a seat that was open.
They made the decision to contact a medical expert after consulting with her captain.
The flight attendant was monitored every 20 minutes until they landed at Heathrow, and it was discovered that his pupils were dilated and that his heart rate was elevated.
Blood testing revealed that the flight attendant had amphetamine and methamphetamine in his system when paramedics rushed him to the hospital after he landed.
British Airways fired Pentecost after the event, and he will be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court later.
British Airways’ credibility has been further damaged by this most recent event. After reportedly leaving the cockpit door open during a flight from Heathrow Airport to New York JFK earlier this year, one of their pilots was suspended, according to The Sun. The pilot allegedly wanted his family to see him at the control center while they were on the trip.
According to a source, the crew and passengers spotted the open cockpit door right away and wanted to know what was going on. Passengers were quite uncomfortable. For a long enough period of time, the door was open for individuals to worry and make comments. When the pilot was reported in the US, his managers had to suspend him, which terrified his fellow BA employees.
