There are some occurrences that are so painful and terrible that we wonder how they can occur behind closed doors. In one such case, a woman from Pensacola, Florida, is accused of severely neglecting her elderly father, allegedly putting him in a chair for months until he sustained injuries that may have killed him.
The woman is accused of leaving her father in a chair for two months, causing him to suffer severe injuries.Pamela Reynolds, 54, was living with her elderly father in Pensacola, Florida, and taking care of him, according to an arrest record. Her father suffered from diabetes, heart issues, hearing loss, and other ailments.
Reynolds called 911 on July 31 to report her father’s high heart rate. When he was taken to the hospital, a nurse found that the skin on his right hip was necrotic and that, based on the records, he had sustained a serious lower back injury.
A nurse speculated that the man’s injuries, which included maggots and excrement, may have been caused by months of not being moved from his reclined position. According to the arrest report, the victim had feces on his beard, fingernails, and feet. Furthermore, he seemed to be severely malnourished.

Reynolds allegedly told detectives that she hadn’t moved her father since early June due to transportation-related problems, and that he hadn’t seen a doctor since January.An officer spoke with the father at the hospital after receiving an allegation of elder abuse. According to the officer, he smelled the rotting flesh of the body.

The officer reported that the elderly man was unable to move on his own and was resting very rigidly with his legs and feet. The victim’s limbs were dark and discolored. Reynolds told the police that she fed her father, gave him medicine, and washed him every day with soap and water. She also said that she changed his diaper each day. She denied knowing about his injuries.
Reynolds was accused of elder maltreatment and is presently being held without bond at the Escambia County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 22.
