Two funeral homes in Pennsylvania will be sued by a couple who believe they sent them an unlabeled package containing their son’s brain in error. Imagine the anguish of losing a kid and then finding pieces of their remains in a box that is rotting and smelling of death. The parents describe the event as distressing and express their hope that no one will experience this terrible catastrophe.
Lawrence and Abbey Butler, the deceased veteran’s parents, received their son’s remains in an unmarked box when he was 56 years old. They intend to file lawsuits against Southern Cremations & Funerals and Nix & Nix Funeral businesses, two funeral businesses located in Georgia and Philadelphia.
The box was leaking and stinking, according to the parents. To put it mildly, it was horrible that the leak also reached the father of the deceased son. As parents, Lawrence Butler says he smelled their son’s death and wishes no one had to experience this.
In addition, they were unable to keep the car when the remains came into contact with it, so they had to get rid of it. This is the duty of both funeral establishments. They gave the unmarked white box, believing it to be personal belongings, but it was actually the brain of their deceased kid.

They don’t believe there’s a good explanation or rationale for this. They were so overwhelmed by the realization that the box contained their son’s remains that they were unable to even open it. Lawrence added that in order to prevent the trauma of such a circumstance, they depended on professionalism.
For them, that day was a double loss. The funeral house, Nix & Nix, has so far claimed that this incident was not their fault. Julian Nix added that the parents are investigating whether or not their son was buried with a brain.

Lawrence, meanwhile, merely wants funeral businesses to accept accountability and grow from this situation. They didn’t perform their duties as well as they were supposed to, he said. They performed their duties improperly. The parents suffer from trauma as a result.
They shouldn’t have to cope with this while they are mourning for their son. Knowing that the funeral home handled their own obligations should give them piece of mind. They might not be getting the one thing they desired after losing their son: peace of mind. They have experienced emotional suffering as a result of the funeral home’s negligence.
