On Monday, the Indianola City Council convened in regular session. In addition to accepting settlements from ABC Smoke and Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh for violations of the Iowa Code pertaining to tobacco sales to those under the age of 21, the council authorized the appointment of Clint Hagedorn and Jess Tom to the Veteran’s Memorial Building Commission.
Before going into closed session to discuss litigation, the council also reviewed Vision 2030, which included options for city hall and emergency department offices, instructions for filling the position of Community and Economic Development Director, a partnership with Service Line Warranties of America, and a tabled agenda item regarding policy statements to establish the City of Indianola’s official position regarding lobbying to the legislature.
