Indianola Cruises By Knoxville In Baseball

The Knoxville Baseball Squad ran into a buzzsaw with Indianola on Tuesday night and fell to the Indians 12-0 as the game was called after the 5th inning due to the run rule. Indianola erupted for seven runs in the 1st inning and cruised from there behind the pitching of Bryant Ritchie who went five innings allowing just three hits, one walk and six strikeouts. Andrew DeWall went 2/2 with three RBI and Dallas Harlan also went 2/2. Asher Brueck, and Ritchie also collected hits. For Knoxville Luke Roozeboom, Lincoln Norris, and Kyler Gifford had one hit, each. Knoxville senior Brenden Woolsey tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this game will be used as a learning tool moving forward.

Woolsey: “It was a very big learning point for our team. We saw a very good team, likely one of the best we’ll see all season and we’ll take it and learn from it.”

Ryker Gifford took the loss going one inning. Knoxville is now 7-6 on the season and is off until Thursday when the Panthers travel to Chariton. Indianola is 12-3 and will travel to Pella Christian tonight. You can hear that game live on 92.1 KRLS.
