On the road Monday, the Indianola summer teams defeated Oskaloosa 6-2 and 6-0 in baseball and 12-8 and 10-0 in six innings in softball.

Andrew DeWall went 2-4 at the plate, driving in two runs, Max Wedmore went 2-3, and Bryant Ritchie pitched five innings, striking out four for the Indians baseball team. Dax Heimbaugh went 1-2, Wedmore went 1-2 with a double and a run drove in, and DeWall went the entire distance, striking out 10 to win game two. Indianola is now 17-3 overall and 10-2 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. They will host Ames tomorrow.

In their game against Oskaloosa, the softball team had to maintain their offensive dominance because Osky scored four runs in the first to take a 4-0 lead before Indianola responded with three runs in the third to trim the deficit to one. After Osky launched a run to build a 12-point lead, Indianola scored nine more points in the fourth to take a 9–4 lead. They then added three more points in the sixth, but a late comeback wasn’t enough.

After blanking Osky in the second game, the Indianola team ended the contest early by scoring runs in the first, third, and sixth innings. Indianola, which will visit Waukee Northwest tonight, is currently 12-7 on the season and 8-3 in conference play.
