Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Report of Water Tampering in Lynnville

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is looking into a report that the Lynnville water supply was tampered with. A news statement states that the City of Lynnville called the department about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. According to preliminary information, the water was safe to drink, but someone had interfered with the devices that controlled its supply. Those with information should call the sheriff’s office at 641-792-5912 as they are seeking information regarding who might have done it. Safeguard Iowa and Hy-Vee provided water to Jasper County Emergency Management and county deputies for distribution during the water scarcity. Additionally, the fire departments in Kellogg, Sully, and Searsboro were put on standby.
