Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, August 18, to discuss potential solutions to stop Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He then called Russian President Vladimir Putin to further peace negotiations. In contrast to their last encounter in March, this one went really well.
During the discussion, Trump and his supporters adopted a friendly demeanor and carefully avoided the actions that drew harsh condemnation the previous time. Vice President JD Vance was among those who chose to remain silent.

During the whole conversation at the Oval Office, Vance was largely silent, which people quickly noticed. Fans have now flooded social media with comments thanking Vance for keeping his d-mb mouth shut.
The March meeting, which had begun amicably, descended into hostility, and Vance’s remarks made matters worse. Vance, a longtime opponent of US assistance to Ukraine, referred to the Ukrainian president as disrespectful for not showing enough gratitude to Trump.
Because of your manpower shortage, you are currently deploying conscripts to the front lines, he remarked. You should be thanking the president for trying to bring an end to this conflict.
“Have you ever been to Ukraine that you say what problems we have?” Zelenskyy asked Vance. And it was clear that Vance would say no.
Vance responded, “I’ve actually watched and seen the stories, and I know that what happens is you bring people, you bring them on a propaganda tour, Mr. President,” ignoring Zelenskyy’s suggestion that he should travel to Ukraine once.
“Have you said thank you once this entire meeting?” he added, insulting the Ukrainian leader. Express gratitude to the President of the United States of America for his efforts to save your nation.
Zelenskyy was not lying when he claimed to have done it numerous times, including today!
It is remembered as one of the most antagonistic encounters between two nations’ presidents. It goes without saying that aggression was useless during the peace negotiations. Therefore, if Vance had nothing useful to contribute, it was best that he kept silent this time. Luckily, he followed suit.
I believe they superglued Vance’s mouth shut, an X user commented. Overall, though, everything went better than I had anticipated.

At the conclusion of the discussion, Zelenskyy and Trump both indicated that they were open to holding trilateral peace negotiations with Russia. Trump declared, “We will work with Ukraine, we will work with everyone, and we will ensure that if there is peace, it will be sustainable.”
