The Panthers defeated the Mustangs 10-0 on Tuesday night after the Knoxville baseball team gained control early and prevented PCM from entering the game. The game concluded after five innings because of the run rule, which was broadcast live on 95.3 KNIA. For the second consecutive game, Briar Kingery had a strong night at the plate. He opened the scoring with a single and drove in two runs in the first inning. After two more runs were scored in the third, Knoxville batted around until a six-run sixth inning, which was capped by a solo blast to left field by Lincoln Norris. Roston McCarty pitched all five innings, giving up four hits, one walk, and three strikeouts, while Kingery spearheaded the Knoxville attack with three RBI. Overall, Coach Tuner Devore told KNIA/KRLS Sports, his squad had a successful evening.
Devore: We had strong batsmen, Briar got going, Lincoln hit a home run, and Brenden recovered, so it was a fairly good game tonight.
Alex Wendt, Jaden Houser, Shay Burns, and Izaac Bagby each had one hit for the Mustangs. Taking the loss, Konner Bell struck out two and gave up nine runs on six hits and six walks. PCM is 7-13 and will play Green County tonight. Knoxville is now 20-10 and will be idle until Monday when the Panthers visit Bondurant-Farrar for the regular season finale.
