Knoxville Hospital and Clinics CFO Retiring

Maggie Hamilton-Beyer will retire on June 30th after 45 years in the medical field, including 14 years as Knoxville Hospital & Clinics’ (KHC) Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Hamilton-Beyer will be replaced as KHC CFO by Sean Dhabalt, who started his job on May 19. Maggie started her first career as an oncology nurse at Omaha Children’s Hospital in 1980, following her graduation from Creighton University. She quickly realized she wasn’t cut out for nursing and started working on an accounting degree. After earning a degree in accounting and deciding to stay in the medical industry, Maggie moved to the Twin Cities in 1987 and started working as a Cost Analyst in the Finance Department of the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital.

After seven years of living and working in the Twin Cities, Maggie moved to Ames in 1994 to be nearer to her family. She started working at Mary Greeley Medical Center as a Budget Analyst and Decision Support Coordinator. Maggie started working as a finance leader at Mercy Medical Center’s Rural Network seven years later while pursuing an MBA at Iowa State University. Her next and longest-tenured job would come from her work with Mercy.

Maggie was appointed as KHC’s temporary CFO in May 2011, after KHC’s associate partner status with the Mercy Network. After a few months, her temporary job quickly turned into a full-time one.
