Knoxville Softball Comes Up Short Against Oskaloosa

Published On:

Despite having many runners on base and in scoring position, the Knoxville Softball Squad lost to Oskaloosa 3-0 on Thursday and was unable to get any of them home. The Panthers outscored the Indians 7–6, although the Indians scored in the second, sixth, and seventh innings. On that particular night, Hannah Dunkin was 3/3. In the bottom of the seventh, Knoxville had two runners in position to score, but they were unable to do so. Coach Chris Peden told KNIA/KRLS Sports that some of those impacts might have been different if there had been a couple more feet.

Peden: It’s a credit to Osky that they stayed with them despite the fact that we had runners on several occasions and had excellent approaches to the plate. However, a few inches to the left or right and the situation would have been completely different.

Jordyn Counts suffered the defeat, giving up six hits and getting two strikeouts. With a record of 3–17, Knoxville will take on Fairfield on Tuesday.
