Knoxville doubled over Clarke, with the baseball Panthers winning 2-1 and the softball team using the long ball to send the Indians home 13-7. It was a pitcher’s battle on one side of Panther Drive and a home run derby on the other. In softball, Knoxville’s 16 hits, including home runs from Hannah Dunkin and Macy Cox, were undoubtedly the Panthers’ greatest offensive performance of the season. Cox’s grand slam in a six-run sixth inning put the game out of reach. Siena Scott, who went 3/4 and five driven in, was also a powerful player at the plate. With just three hits in five innings and four strikeouts, Mia Durham won. On the baseball side of Panther Drive, Jessen Ferguson recorded the save in one inning of work, and Lincoln Norris gave up just four hits in six innings while striking out seven. Luke Roozeboom singled in the sixth inning to score the game-winning run. The other RBI was held by Briar Kingery. To play PCM, the two Knoxvilles are traveling to Jasper County. Baseball will go to Prairie City, and softball will go to Monroe. Live coverage of the baseball game begins at 6:45 on 95.3 KNIA.
