There has been a love story on Reddit this month that has everyone baffled. When her lover did something odd on her birthday, a 23-year-old girl’s heart was broken. She had been eyeing a dress for weeks after seeing it two months prior, but he gave it to his mother instead of her.
To make matters worse, he just handed her a gift card to Sephora! Is it not unbelievable?
The internet is furious because her beautiful day turned into a total emotional disaster. People are just in awe at this guy’s error and feel sorry for the woman.
This woman posted about a clothing she had been gushing about on the Reddit thread r/AmIOverreacting. In her favorite shade, it was a $200 showstopper. During a shopping trip, she and her boyfriend of three years had seen it together, but they decided not to purchase it since, well, it was a little pricy at the time.
However, she was unable to stop thinking about it and even brought it up constantly.
As it happens, he was listening, though perhaps not to her exact specifications.
Thus, the guy’s mother shows up at their party wearing the identical dress on the day she was celebrating her birthday. The girlfriend first didn’t think it was more than a strange coincidence. However, his mother fails to mention that he had actually given her that dress as a gift a month earlier! How embarrassing.

As one could anticipate, Reddit went crazy. Someone wrote: His actions were harsh and well-thought-out. Another commenter said, “This is a huge warning sign; there is no sugar-coating it.”
The woman stated, “He keeps calling me, but I won’t answer, and there’s nothing he can say or do to change that.” She has since ended their relationship. I’ve come to understand this and have interpreted it as an indication of a nature he had so skillfully concealed up until now.

The unfortunate woman also mentioned that someone is posing as her online and requesting money to purchase a dress, as a Reddit soap opera wouldn’t be complete without a dash of identity theft.
