On Wednesday night, the Melcher-Dallas Summer Sports Squads lost their respective non-conference games. In the first inning, the baseball team led, but Central Decatur tied the game in the bottom of the second and then scored five runs in the fourth. The Saints reached 7-6 but were unable to get any closer. Melcher-Dallas’ top hitter, Evan Schrader, went 2/4 with three drove in. The softball team lost 11-0 to Centerville, a massive buzzsaw. The game was called after three innings because of the run rule, as the Saints were held scoreless. Baseball will host Seymour on Friday, while softball will return home to host Lamoni tonight.
