Pella of 4th of July Festivities Returning This Friday

Published On:

Later this week, the City of Pella will celebrate the Fourth of July with events. Event Coordinator Paul Kingma said the celebrations would follow the same style as in the past. Swimming at the Pella Aquatic Center, food vendors in Central Park, shows at the Tulip Toren, fishing at Caldwell Park, and a show of local first responders are all part of Pella’s Fourth of July celebrations on Friday. Pella Historical Museums and Pella Preservation Trust will once again collaborate on city wagon excursions in the afternoon, and the Pella Farmers Market will reschedule its weekly event to coincide with the Fourth of July celebrations, which fall on a Friday this summer. Beginning at East 2nd and Franklin Street, close to Scholte Church, the yearly parade makes a comeback along a reverse Tulip Time route. After the parade, the Pella City Band will play, and at ten o’clock at night, fireworks will start close to Central College. Lil Big Red Radio and KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio are taking part in local Fourth of July events.
