Pleasantville Softball Defeats Des Moines Christian Wednesday, Baseball Blows Out EBF

The Pleasantville baseball team dominated Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont at home on Wednesday night, while the Pleasantville softball team trounced Des Moines Christian on the road.

In a West Central Conference game, the Trojan softball team defeated the Lions 5–4. The winning pitcher, Lainey Kennedy, pitched all seven innings while recording one strikeout and allowing seven hits and four runs. On offense, the Trojans got seven hits overall, including two hits each from Lillian Mason and Kally Wysong. The Pleasantville softball team’s overall record is at 13-7.

The Trojan baseball team, rated #2, defeated the Rockets 16-1. Luke Vestal earned the victory by pitching four innings with seven strikeouts and just one hit allowed. JJ Phillips went 1-3 with a double and five RBI, Easton Cox went 1-2 with three RBI, and Braylon Bingham went 2-2 at the plate with a triple and three RBI. The Trojan baseball team’s season record now stands at 21-1.

Tonight, the Pleasantville softball and baseball teams will play conference doubleheaders against Woodward-Granger.
