Severe Scattered Storms Possible Sunday Evening

Published On:

There may be sporadic thunderstorms again on Sunday night and into early Monday morning due to a cold front moving over the state.

The National Weather Service reports that during that time, there has been a minor danger of severe weather. The greatest danger will be short, intense downpours and wind gusts above 60 mph. Despite the fact that 4-6 inches of rain have fallen on parts of the area in the past week, there is a minor risk of flash floods.

From Monday through the majority of the week, temperatures are expected to be in the mid-to-upper 80s.

If there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning in Marion, Warren, or Jasper Counties, the KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team is on the air.
