Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni rolled her eyes at a joke made by U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday afternoon about her predecessor and how they hadn’t been in power for long.
Trump told an obviously appreciative Meloni, “They don’t last very long.” You have endured and will continue to endure for a very long time. To finish his remarks, Trump then introduced Germany’s chancellor, Friedrich Merz.

Following a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who presented a letter responding to First Lady Melania Trump’s letter, the eyeroll occurred. The Ukrainian president also applauded Melania’s letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, encouraging him to end the war. She wrote to President Putin regarding my wife, the First Lady of Ukraine, our children, and the kidnapped children. Zelensky said, “She gave the letter to your wife, not to you.”
Zelensky handed the letter to Trump, who attempted to read it. After expressing his awe, the president said, “I want it.” The comment caused everyone in the room to burst out laughing.
