Both George and Esmeralda Doilez are citizens of the United States and have been Donald Trump fans for a long time. However, some claim that they now regret their vote because circumstances have changed.
On their route to a dentist appointment in Southern California, they had a startling run-in with US Border Patrol authorities. They were scared and disillusioned after their interaction with an agent. Furthermore, they are now contesting the policies they formerly supported.
The pair believed they were among Trump’s closest supporters and supported him in the 2020 and 2024 elections.
They saw a dark SUV following them as they drove to the dentist. After then, the guardrail car sounded its siren and pushed them off the road.
Abruptly, their car was surrounded by disguised agents. George later informed NBC7 that the authorities used the claim of reasonable suspicion to support the stop. Several U-turns and the presence of a known immigrant in the vicinity, which was about nine miles from the Mexican border, were factors in this supposition.

“It probably wasn’t the best idea to be out in the middle of nowhere if you have a dentist appointment,” said one agent. The agent said, “It’s called reasonable suspicion,” in response to George’s statement, “We have the right to travel wherever we want to go.”
Despite their US citizenship and compliance with the authorities, the couple claimed that their skin color was the reason they were stopped. Why aren’t we permitted here? Considering that we are not white? Doesn’t our skin tone match? George asked.
Additionally, agents summoned a K-9 unit, but this was done just for intimidation. A tiny amount of lawfully purchased cannabis was found by K-9.
It was utilized as probable cause for a car search because the couple believed the search was unnecessary. After around thirty minutes of searching and interrogation, only the pair was given a warning and permitted to leave.
A married American couple was stopped and searched by ICE because their skin types didn’t match. They now regret casting two votes for Trump.
George stated, “I feel angry, guilty, and ashamed.” He stole our vote by lying to us about going after the worst.

Esmeralda is crying and trembling, and George is afraid as a result of the experience. The pair has expressed sincere regret for their support of Trump in the wake of this occurrence. They claim that they are now experiencing rage, remorse, and shame.
Trump’s pledge to target only the worst of the worst makes them feel awful. George said, “He stole our vote and lied on those.”
Their situation reveals an unsettling trend. Immigration laws that affect US residents are being enforced by authorities. All of these non-white US citizens, however, are either generational citizens or immigrants themselves.
Numerous instances of U.S. CITIZENS, including toddlers, cancer patients, and members of Native American and Latino communities, being forcibly detained for days or weeks during ICE raids without any legal redress have been made public by recent reporting. According to CNN, there have been cases of people being detained by ICE. One such instance included a tow yard worker close to Los Angeles and an electrician from New York. According to internal ICE data that NBC was able to access, almost half of those in custody had not been charged or found guilty of any crimes.
In reaction to the story, Customs and Border Protection released a statement defending the stop. They claim that it is legitimate and founded on a reasonable suspicion.
Additionally, the agency deemed the couple’s accusations of racial profiling unfounded and rejected them. They have reiterated that the agents upheld their objective to secure the border by acting within their legal authorities.
