Trump Says Windmills Are ‘Killing New Jersey’ and Slams Them as ‘Stupid and Ugly’

This morning, President Donald Trump blew up on Truth Social, calling windmills UGLY AND STUPID and accusing them of KILLING NEW JERSEY. He stated that turbines aren’t generating enough electricity to keep the state functioning and that electricity rates have increased by 28% this year. He yelled in all caps: QUIT THE WINDMILLS!

The outburst is only the most recent development in Trump’s long-running campaign against renewable energy. During a cabinet meeting earlier this month, he attacked wind and solar power, calling them a disgrace to our nation and claiming they were prohibitively costly. Reiterating his favorite comments, he called windmills ugly and foolish and sneered that intelligent nations don’t utilize them.

Trump: By the way, the windmills are killing our nation. They are all over the fields. Trash. They’re all over them. Additionally, they deteriorate, corrode, and age.image.twitter.com/PbSZ4Ip0cC

Trump continued from there. He raged that offshore wind projects are killing whales and that turbines are killing birds everywhere. The Department of Energy and NOAA have both stated that there is no proof that wind development causes widespread wildlife mortality, and scientists have deemed those allegations to be unfounded.

His animosity of windmills has spread over the world. During a recent visit to his Turnberry golf property in Scotland, Trump became enraged about distant turbines. “Isn’t that a shame?” he grumbled, standing next to Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission. What a shame, and they called the tall buildings a terrible, terrible thing and environmentally dangerous.

The tirades aren’t just empty rhetoric. More than $100 billion in offshore wind investments may be put on hold after Trump signed an executive order suspending new wind permits and reducing subsidies for renewable projects. Additionally, he has called on supporters such as New Jersey Representative Jeff Van Drew to advocate for a comprehensive prohibition on new offshore wind farms from Rhode Island to Virginia.

Trump has launched a full-scale attack, but energy experts believe his claims are unfounded. In the United States, onshore wind is still one of the least expensive electricity sources; it is frequently less expensive than coal, gas, or nuclear. Conservationists emphasize that while turbines can have an impact on birds, habitat loss and climate change are far more significant killers. Furthermore, it has been shown again and time again that wind farms are not killing whales.

Now, New Jersey is in the crosshairs. With a target of 7.5 gigawatts by 2035—enough to power millions of homes—Governor Phil Murphy is placing a large wager on wind energy. However, polls indicate that popular support is declining due to dissatisfaction with aesthetics, cost, and anxieties fanned by Trump’s constant attacks.

Trump: Windmills are not welcome in this nation. On it, we are placing an order. I’ve kind of done it already. You know what else people dislike? Windmills are something we don’t want. Those enormous solar fields.H32Xrp2g pic.twitter.com

Trump hasn’t changed his message. He believes that windmills are monsters that are destroying the countryside and destroying the future of America. His tirades are more audible than ever, whether they are in the White House, on social media, or on the golf course. Furthermore, Trump himself might be the only thing spinning faster than the turbines, as his detractors note.
