Whether they require diesel to power their trucks and tractors, electricity to chill their homes, or gas for their cars to travel to work, Americans depend on inexpensive, plentiful, and dependable energy.
But America hasn’t been a leader in energy for far too long, and the federal government has obstructed advancement. Energy projects have been stalled by needless red tape, and American energy corporations have not been given any assurance.
Washington’s attack on energy producers had to stop, and the American people had to be prioritized once more. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, passed by President Trump and House Republicans, unleashes American energy dominance. This will lead to more jobs in the United States, less reliance on foreign nations for vital minerals or energy, and lower pricing for American families and small companies.
Even though the individuals we serve live more than 400 miles apart, the automobiles created in Michigan are powered by ethanol generated in Iowa. This common bond highlights the consequences of failing to enact the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. We now have the chance to create energy that is more affordable, efficient, and clean to power our own American-made automobiles.
Do you wish to use a more environmentally friendly energy source and spend less at the pump? This bill is for you, then. We have been importing vital minerals and energy from other nations for many years. nations that frequently have weaker environmental protections and worse workplace safety conditions. nations who are hostile to us!
They might even shut down our supply chains at any time, leaving us defenseless and without the means to produce or maintain the goods that we all depend on on a daily basis. Think about the cars you drive or the appliances you use.
However, a solution exists. Chips manufactured using essential minerals that are found in the United States are needed for your phone, refrigerator, tractor, and automobile. Another significant policy victory in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is the capacity to utilize those resources. It encourages the production of vital minerals in the United States through domestic mining.
Another important reason we have to swiftly pass this legislation is that energy security is national security. In an effort to boost energy output and reduce costs, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act also brings back the sale of oil and gas leases, both onshore and offshore. Both of us have been committed to providing solutions to address the expanding need for energy.
Now enacted into law, these commonsense provisions will lead to reduced energy prices, more American employment, and less reliance on nations that despise us. Our towns and villages’ energy infrastructure, local economy, and rural America will all benefit from the cumulative effect. To compete in a world that is always changing, one needs all of them.
Without sacrificing the principles that allow America to be a leader in innovation or hand over power to bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., the answers promote economic progress.
In the end, the One Big Beautiful Bill prioritizes America. It gives us the opportunity to take charge again and lead the energy industry. It restores our energy independence so that we, and not other nations, can take control once more. It supports our families, autoworkers, producers, cooperatives, and farmers.
For this and many more reasons, we both enthusiastically backed the passage in the U.S. House of Representatives. We firmly think that the One Big Beautiful Bill Act provides answers for every American. Essentially, it’s a promise made and honored. We stayed dedicated to seeing it through, and now that the President has signed it into law, it will begin to benefit Michiganders, Iowans, and Americans in general.
