The baseball team scored 29 of the runs as the Twin Cedars Summer Sports Squads easily defeated Moulton-Udell on Monday night, winning 43-5 overall. The Sabers’ offensive pace was paced by Kaden Kloster, who went 3/3 and scored five runs. Holden Roberts contributed four RBI, Gavin Clark contributed two, Brock Micetich contributed four, and Robert Goemaat contributed three to the multi-inning night. Roberts pitched three innings while giving up just two hits to earn the victory. In the meantime, the softball team defeated the Eagles 14-1. Things started off with five runs thanks to a hit from Alli Reed and a double with two RBI from Cristen Durian. With seven runs, a single by Ashtyn Fee, and another two RBI double from Durian, who was 3/4 with four RBI overall, the Sabers would slam the door shut in the fifth inning. Khloe French earned the victory by striking out three batters while giving up four hits. Tonight, softball hosts North Mahaska in a doubleheader, while baseball plays Chariton.
