The latest information about the ongoing building additions and renovations at Newton’s Aurora Heights and Thomas Jefferson Elementary schools will be shared with the Newton School Board this evening during their regularly scheduled meeting. The last update on May 23rd revealed that drywall work had been finished, door frames were set, and tunnel pipe and steam boiler demolition had been completed inside Thomas Jefferson Elementary. At Aurora Heights Elementary, mostly exterior work on the addition was reported on, as building pad compaction had been completed along with gym piers. The school board will also talk about the upcoming Iowa Association of School Boards Summit on Student Success that will be held this Wednesday at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny. Tonight’s Newton School Board Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the EJH Beard Administration Center at 1302 First Avenue West.
